I havehad been searching for a solid guide to iOS 5 new features. The "staples," updated for iOS 5, let me down, rife with errata, inconsistent coding conventions, and lack of adherence to best practices such as synthesizing _ivar aliases, dot notation, etc. And none of the books I've started to read up to now even mentioned UIManagedDocument or parent and child contexts! I was immediately impressed that yours did (and that you made a point to mention the current limitations as per the current release notes), that you offer bonus chapters, that within the chapter 4 sample on peachpit.com I found an explanation of how control-dragging to the implementation file will follow previous syntax of synthesized properties (e.g., declaring ivar aliases), that the sample app I downloaded is polished, that you are consistent in your coding conventions, and that you make yourself available to your readership via this forum and the errata page.
So, thank you! I really appreciate all the hard work you all have clearly put into this book and I am looking forward to reading it.
